Halvad – Dhrangadhra MLA Parshottam Sabaria resigns

Surendranagar: Congress MLA from Halvad – Dhrangadhra constituency today resigned as MLA and also from party. Sabaria is likely to join BJP soon. Sabaria is industrialist turn politician who contested and won assembly election for the first time in 2017 assembly general election. He belongs to Kantha Chuvaliya Koli community. He stayed in jail for about 4 months for his alleged involvement in micro irrigation scam. He was later released on jail.
Sabaria told media persons that he has taken the decision at his own and to participate in the mainstream development work.
To a query he did not rule out the possibility of his joining ruling BJP soon.
This is second resignation from Congress party today. Earlier in day another Congress MLA Jawahar Chavda resigned from Congress party and also as MLA of Manavdar seat.
With this Congress strength in assembly is down by five including one MLA Bhagwan Barad from Talala who has been disqualified this month under RPA act section 8.
