Boating facility to be developed for tourists visiting Statue of Unity

Vadodara: Vadodara based Trust has been given in-principle approval for starting boating activity at Karjan dam and Sardar Sarovar reservoirs.
Boating facility at Karjan dam will involve three islands. On one of islands, a small tribal village will be created to showcase the tribal culture. Kerala style houseboat facility has also been planned.
At Sardar Sarovar, three boats will be deployed, of which two will be small boats while one boat will have 150-passenger capacity. The large boat will also have mini restaurant. Jetty for boating facility will be at Gadher village on the back side of the dam. The distance between the Statue of Unity and jetty will be 23 km. A bus will be deployed to carry visitors from statue to jetty facility.
