Tenders for Rs 4,000 crore Bhadbhut barrage project to be out this month, works to start this year: Rupani

Bharuch: Speaking at Kosamdi village of Ankleshwar taluka in Bharuch district of Central Gujarat, Chief Minister Vijay Rupani today made announcement that tenders for Rs 4,000 crore Bhadbhut barrage project will be out later this month. Rupani said Bhadbhut dam will prevent saline sea water from entering into river bed of Narmada. It will also conserve Narmada water and solve the issue of water supply. Rupani said the works for the project will start within this year. Rupani was speaking at a function to kick off state wide Sujalam Sufalam Jal Abhiyan under which water bodies will be deepened in public partnership, new check dams will be built and obstructions in flow of rivers will be removed. Rupani remembered the greatest son of Bharuch, Shri Kanaiyaal Munshi and said Munshi had worked for water conservation and today the movement for the same is starting from his native place.
