Finance minister makes important announcements on Maa Vatsalya Yojana

Gandhinagar: Finance Minister Nitin Patel today made several new announcements related to the Maa Vatsalya Yojana which provides free healthcare to needy people in the State.
According to the announcements made by Finance minister in his budget speech, upto Rs 3 lakh medical treatment will be free under Maa Vatsalya Yojana. At present the ceiling limit is Rs 2 lakh.
Patel said those with family income upto Rs 3 lakh/year will be covered under this Yojana instead of present criteria of Rs 2 lakh family income per year.
Patel proposed free treatment upto Rs 5 lakh for sixty plus age senior citizens under this Yojana for which eligibility criteria will be family income upto Rs 6 lakh per year.
He said assistance for kidney, lever, pancreas transport will be increased from Rs 2 lakh at present to Rs 5 lakh, while in the case of knee and hip replacement assistant will be increased upto Rs 40,000 per knee.
