Tribal Care programme at ISCKON convention

The Tribal Care Initiative has organised its third Tribal Care programme at the ISKCON (International Society for Krishna Consciousness) convention at Mayapur.
The theme of this year’s three-day convention, which started from April 19, was “Geeta, Ganga, Gavi, Gayatri, Govinda”.
The convention included panel discussion, seminars, related to different development issues and challenges in tribal areas including basic ones such as health, education and economical.
The programme was inaugurated by the Director of the ITC, HH Bhakti Purshottam Swami.
Braving heat and the election season, nearly 500 participants, representing 15 tribes from different districts of nine states, showed their ethnic dances with traditional costumes. Also discourses from Bhagwat Geeta are being recited regularly.
