Post Uttarayan, 4 year old boy dies of kite string injury in Surat

A four year old boy today died owing to kite string injuries in Vijayanagar locality of Udhana town in Surat district of Gujarat, police said.
The incident took place while the boy was riding on the motorcycle of his father. A sharp kite string suddenly wrapped around his neck causing deep cut wound. He was rushed to a local hospital where he succumbed.
Earlier during recently concluded Uttarayan festival, during which kites are traditionally flown in large numbers, at least six people died this year in similar manner across the state owing to kite string injuries hundreds injured.
