Ground breaking ceremony for proposed Surat Dream City project will not take place on scheduled date of 8 February.
The earlier scheduled date has been cancelled as Gujarat Chief Minister who was to perform ground breaking for Dream City has to go to a conference of all state Chief Ministers called by Prime Minister in Delhi on 8 February.
More than 20,000 guests were expected to attend the function, and many of them had already booked their tickets as they received formal invitation. More than 5,000 guests were to arrive from Mumbai. Now they too are in process of cancelling their tickets.
Surat Municipal Corporation and district administration had started preparations for the function which was also going to be attended by union minister Nirmala Sitharaman.
It is believed that the new date of ground breaking could be 15 February.
