New Delhi, 9 March 2014
Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) has boycotted NDTV.
In its official press statement, BJP said: Tweet being manufactured by a channel in order to hurt BJP is unprecedented. BJP therefore has decided to keep away from panel discussion of NDTV for present.
It should be mentioned that NDTV had given update that BJP leader Sushma Swaraj was not happy with Narendra Modi’s plan to contest Varanasi seat. NDTV quoted Sushma’s tweet to support this update.
NDTV said, “Sushma has tweeted – if there’s Narendra Modi wave in country why he is searching for safe seat in UP?”
Now actually, Sushma had not posted any such tweet.
NDTV apologized after some time and flashed another update that the news was not correct.
Meanwhile on social media, BJP fans are overwhelmingly welcoming BJP’s decision. Most of the supporters say this step has been taken too late. Some supported advised BJP to stick on its stand and not to reverse it after some time like in the past party had done in the case of CNN-IBN.
