Dr. Devi Prasad Shetty, a game changer in India’s healthcare world in his captivating address at National Institute of Design(NID) today evening not only spoke about issues India is facing in the Healthcare world, but also spoke about the way out. Most part of his speech covered not that what should be done, but covered what he has done already.
Dr. Shetty speaks about why he prefers new doctors from poor families, he speaks about wives trained for nursing, he speaks about cheaper 300-bed hospital buit by L&T, he speaks about a hospital in American Island to be opened in February where doctors from Bangalore will treat the patients, Dr. Shetty says an average person pays Rs. 150 bill for his mobile phone each month. If each of 850 million mobile users pay Rs. 20 per month with phone bill for healthcare, all of them can be insured for health services.
