New Delhi, 20 November 2013
A Supreme Court bench of Justices SS Nijjar and FM I Kalifulla on Tuesday denied bail to BJP MP from Junagadh Gujarat Dinu Solanki in connection with the murder of activist Amit Jethava. The decision was taken by the court after CBI’s submission that they needed at least six more weeks to probe the case and Solanki was required to be confronted with other accused. The Supreme Court will hear the matter on 3 January. Senior advocate Mukul Rohatgi argued for Solanki that he was arrested from Delhi after being summoned as a witness, although his petition against the CBI probe was pending in the Supreme court.
