Ahmedabad, 7 August 2013
“It seems that Justice RA Mehta has been mislead. Who dictates Justice Mehta?” Asked Gujarat BJP spokesperson IK Jadeja today reacting to Justice RA Mehta’s letter to Governor.
Justice RA Mehta today in his letter to Governor and Chief Justice of Gujarat High Court refused to become Lokayukta. Mehta’s letter was circulated to media persons through an unknown email id.
Reacting to the letter Gujarat BJP spokesperson IK Jadeja further said, “Justice Mehta has right to write whatever he feels, but is it proper that a person of such stature in legal field leak a letter to media?”
He said, “Justice Mehta has mentioned Rs. 45 crore expenses over Lokayukta case in his letter, but does he have any detail on this? How proper it is to make such allegations only on the basis of media reports? From where did he get such detail?”
He said, “Justice Mehta needs to think again on his remarks and his allegations against the government. The legal dispute was about procedure of appointment of Lokayukta. The government had no objection against any individual person. In such scenario how proper it is to make baseless allegations against the government?”
