Ahmedabad, 30 June 2012
Babubhai Shah, who is the only Congress MLA elected from Kutch, has asked Justice MB Shah Commission to recover amount as per the Jantri rates with interest from Adani group for year 2005 allotment of Gauchar land in Mundra.
“In 2005 the rate of land for commercial purpose prescribed in Jantri was Rs 1,000, but the state government’s rate review committee recovered only Rs 7.50 per meter instead of prescribed rate of Rs 300 per meter considering 30% premium rate,” Shri Shah said.
“For 49,17,509 square meter gauchar land, the government could charge Rs 147,46,52,700, considering Rs 300 premium which was 30% of Rs 1000 per meter as per the Jantri rate prevalent, but state government’s committee charged only Rs 3,68,81,318 , considering 50% of Rs 25 per meter which comes to Rs 7.50. Thus Rs 143,77,71,382 was the difference, the amount that should be recovered with 24% interest from Adani”, said Shri Shah.
