Sanjiv Bhatt likely to face murder charge
December 10, 2011
Jamnagar, 10 December, 2011
Charges for murder and custodial torture are likely to be framed against suspended controversial IPS officer Sanjiv Bhatt soon.
A sessions court in Jam Khambhalia on Friday rejected Bhatt’s application to defer the process.
Bhatt’s advocate I H Syed submitted that till the revision application that was filed earlier was heard and disposed of, the charges should not be farmed against his client. He contended that his application for condonation of delay of 21 years in the case be heard first before framing charges against him. However, sessions judge N P Solanki rejected the plea, and refused to grant operation of his order.
The next date of hearing is December 27.
