Dhari town solidly backs local BJP MLA, observes total shut-down

Saurashtra’s Dhari town today observed total strike against allegedly a fake application accusing local BJP MLA and 17 others of rape.
According to BJP MLA, a baseless application submitted to police is aimed at achieving political gain.
A lady Mrs. Makwana, who has accused MLA and 17 others of rape is gram panchayat member.
Local chamber of commerce, traders, shop keepers, Bajarang group, Brahmin samaj, Kshatriya sama, Patel samaj, Dhari BJP, Dhari Congress, Sadhu samaj, Ahir samaj, Muslim samaj etc declared support to Dhari bandh and walked in a rally in the morning which concluded at Mamlatdar office.
A memorandum was submitted before local Mamlatdar demanding inquiry into the facts of an application in question.
Assistant Superitendent of Police Kartik Kashyap rushed to Dhari town and promised that police would thoroughly probe into an application submitted by a gram panchayat member. He promised medical check up and questioning that would throw light on facts.
District Police Chief Muliyana said that since the incident, as claimed by the complainant, took place six months ago, police would need to first verify the veracity of the complaint.
Today’s Dhari bandh was backed by schools, colleges, markets and even road side stalls.
Even political opponent of BJP MLA said that today this can happen to Mansukhbhai, tomorrow somebody could accuse someobody other.
MLA Bhuva said the police were free to investigate the complaint and take action against those found guilty. He dismissed the rape charge as politically motivated and termed it as a blackmail tactic.
Into the detail of complaint
-In two applications submitted to the police, the husband of a woman member of a village panchayat has alleged that she was gang-raped by a BJP MLA and 17 others six months ago.
-In the applications, only six persons have been named, while 12 others have been shown as unidentified.
